The OCC is a charity that receives no government funding and is not part of the NHS. We are entirely reliant on donations to provide osteopathic care to every child that comes through our door, regardless of their parents’ ability to pay.
Last year, we provided over 16,000 treatments for babies, children and women in the peri-natal period at our clinics in Wandsworth and Shoreditch. We also work with premature babies at the Starlight neo-natal unit at Barnet Hospital.
Other aspects of our work include training registered osteopaths in the specialism of paediatrics through our two-year, clinic based post-graduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy. We are also undertaking research projects so we can better evidence the benefits of paediatric osteopathy.
To enable us to provide paediatric osteopathy as a healthcare choice for all families regardless of their ability to pay, we rely on donations. We always ask our families to donate what they can, however we urgently need your support to help keep our doors open.
An idea of costs for 2017:
- An assessment and treatment for a new patient costs us £80
- A follow up treatment costs us £40
- To fully train an osteopath in paediatrics cost us £4305 per year
- To keep the OCC open costs us £3850 per calendar day
Help us to continue making a difference to the lives of thousands of children by donating today. Regular donations are the best way to help us plan for the future. Your monthly donation would be hugely valuable to us no matter how small it may seem to you.
